The wedding market in the United States is at an all time high,the average cost of a wedding today is 20 to 25 thousand dollars with an industry estimated at 25. Just because your budget cannot stretch to pay for all those expensive ‘necessities’, it doesn’t mean that your wedding will be any less unique,there are many ways to save money just by clever planning, if you want a cheap wedding. By using some imaginative ideas, money can be saved,which should promise a fantastic day for less!meaning your special day is possible but without the high price tag.
Second Hand BespokeWedding Gowns
Of course every bride wants a designed, hand made wedding dress; this is very expensive but savings can be made, especially if using a previously owned dress is considered. It is easy to buy a wedding dress that has only been worn once for less than half the price; many stores have begun to supply dresses this way, often hiring them just for the day.
Planning the Reception
The best place to make significant cost savings is the reception,with close to 200 people attending, the reception is the first place to make your cheap wedding more of a reality. Don’t invite everyone you know, in particular relatives you haven’t seen since you were a child; as far as the meal is concerned why not have a buffet instead of a full, waited on, three course meal.
To save on a costly wedding reception venue in a hotel, consider the alternatives; some people now arrange to hold them in a club house where they can place a set amount over the bar for certain beverages like beer, wine and soft drinks for the children.
Wedding Pictures
Although many photographers are employed for the entire day, this isn’t really necessary; the majority of guests are more than happy to take photos on behalf of the couple, and they will be ‘natural’ shots as well! If you really want to be ‘avante guarde’, why pay for a photographer at all; these days most people know someone who is a keen, capable amateur photographer, and there is nothing wrong with asking them to take photos throughout the whole day.

Other areas where you can be assured of saving money is wedding invitations and other stationery; today’s home computers and printers are able to provide near professional results. You may not feel comfortable using your home computer at first but this is a very productive use of your time; adjustments and corrections to suit your requirements can be made without any visits to the printers.
Floral Arrangements
Florists and flower arranging can be very expensive, especially for special occasions; why not buy them direct and arrange them yourself or enroll a friend to do this for you. If you have one of your friends make the wedding cake you can save some serious money; there probably won’t be any need for five or six tiers either just as an alternative to the traditional fruit filling could be tried.
The Wedding Transportation
Lastly, instead of a limousine why not rent a car or borrow a luxury car from a friend or relative; most will be pleased to help.
