Drafty Kitchen but decent air temperature?
The air temperature in my kitchen is around 60 degrees (I am measuring it with an aquarium thermometer – would this throw it off?) When you walk into the kitchen you can feel the draft all around you, and it feels way colder than 60 – but I cant find it. Walking from the kitchen to the living room is like night and day.
Its not coming from the windows, its not coming from the cabinets, and its not coming from the door. At least not strong enough for me to find it.
My landlady says theres no draft, but I can feel it. How can I prove there is one?
How you find your draft is to walk around the kitchen with a lit candle.
My guess is that your kitchen floor is not insulated, and the cold you feel is caused by that icy cold linoleum. As you walk through the room, your legs stirs up the cold air which has collected near the floor, which can feel like a cold draft on your skin.
