Where can I buy a tea cup pigs in cali?
I have always loved pigs! I even owned one But she recently died. And i was wondering where i can find a tea cup piggy?
There is no such thing as a “tea cup” pig.
Even the smallest of pigs will still get to be around 150lbs.. Sometimes a little less, but not much.. And not often.
The term “tea cup pig” is nothing more than a marketing scam/con. The “breeders” of these animals unhealthily and unethically produce these tiny “looking” animals without a care for the animal’s health. It’s all about profit.
Usually, the parents are just piglets themselves, so they can appear smaller to someone who wants to buy from their litter. They are bred just under a year old… Which is sick, when you consider that a pig is sexually mature until its 3-4 years old. So, to young and small parents will produce tiny looking babies. What the buyer doesn’t know is that these piglets will grow bigger than the parents they saw (who also will grow much bigger from the time you see them).
Any website, ad, or anything else that says “tea cup pig” or “micro pig” is not to be trusted. It is no better than buying from a puppy mill. There are smaller types of pigs, but none as small as what these people will market to you.
Though, I’m sure, since you did have one, that you know that pigs do make good pets and are very smart. Look for you an actual pig breeder who practices good breeding methods and cares for the animals health, and not the profit.
