Stemless wine glasses turning out to be very popular
Have you noticed there has been an upswing in the use of stemless wine glasses in recent months?
Stemless wine glasses have become all the rage on occasions where wine drinkers want to use a special glass for wine tasting, but the setting may be a non-formal one and the host doesn’t want to run the risk of top heavy stemmed glasses being tipped over and the precious wine distributed over carpets, table cloths and guests clothing.
Even though your setting may be on a boat, or an outdoors BBQ under a summer twilight, perhaps a casual dinner party for your wine enthusiast friends – stemless glasses remain very stable without reducing the wine tasting experience.
On many an occasion of hosting a dinner we have had many a well made wine deposited on table cloths, rugs and guests clothing – embarrassing for the guest and a waste of good wine.
When I went searching for stemless Pinot noir glasses I decided to use wine glasses that not only helped display the wine at its inherent best, but also would look great on the table. It needed to be able to comprehensively relay the characters of a great Pinot noir and at the same time be practical enough for me to use for large groups of guests. The all important part of the Pinot glass – the bowl shape – has to be perfect in order to send the wine to the right part of the palate.
When it comes to outdoors BBQ’s and roasting or grilling red meats, I need Cabernet wine glasses – stemless tumblers to be exact for consuming cabernet or merlot wines. The big problem you occasionally encounter when eating outside is the uneven surfaces you can get and less than stable furniture that is found at beach houses, making stemless glasses ideal additions for serving wine.
Many of our casual guests prefer white meats to steaks or lamb, and as I am very enthusiastic about great chardonnays, I found these awesome stemless Riedel wine glasses for chardonnay drinkers. Because the chardonnay wine bowl is taller than that found on red wine glasses this particular wine glass has a base that will aid stability.
