Magnetic Spice Racks Give a Modern Lift to Your Kitchen
Magnetic spice racks are the most modern iteration of an idea that is thousands of years old. We have been able to learn a lot about the ancient Greeks, for example, by studying pottery from thousands of years ago. Then just as now people needed a way to store various goods such as oils, spices, perfumes etc.
The incorporation of magnets into spice storage containers has enabled the creating of spice racks where each container fixes itself automatically to a steel plate. This plate will hold spice cans at any orientation from horizontal to vertical. The really nice thing about these is that the magnets are doing all the work, all you have to do is set the can down and the spices stay put. This makes spices a breeze to reorganize and rearrange.
One of the biggest benefits of a magnetic spice rack over a more traditional approach is that since they are able to mount anywhere at any orientation you could store all your spices on the inside of a cupboard door or part of the wall near your stop. We all find ourselves short on countertop space so utilizing vertical space to store spices frees up a lot of space on counters or in cupboards.
If you are going to implement a system to store spices for your cooking it should look nice as well as be functional. The magnetic option definitely accomplishes this and adds a modern styling to your kitchen which would be appropriate in most circumstances.
In some cases it may fit better with the style of your kitchen to go with a more classic look suck as handmade Italian glass bottles, but we’ll leave that for another day.
