what happens chemically when solid copper sulphate is heated?
I know it turns white and H2O is evaporated but what else happens and what is the formula of a hydrate?

CuSO4.5H20…Copper sulphate penta-hydrate.
(Crystals of Blue Vitriol).
The dehydration is more a Physical change by simply driving off the water to form Anhydrous Copper Sulphate. There is no actual chemical reaction taking place.
