Can you put refrigerator magnets on computer tower?

I have this Marines bumper sticker magnet and I don’t know where else to put it since I don’t have a car yet
Let me rephrase question.

Would it damage anything inside?
I’m not saying I want to put magnets on it -_- I just don’t know where else to put that one.

Typical home use magnets aren’t going to cause a problem on the outside of a computer case. Even, if placed on the metal cover of a HD itself, there’s little damage if none at all, they’re just not strong enough. The distance(gap) and metal help protect the data. Any other recycled magnets like from a HD(rare earth metals) or strong generated electromagnetic field can cause problems but even those have to be close to do so. For safe practice, just don’t place a magnet near by and be happy you didn’t cause a problem. If you have access to strong magnets or equipment that generates unshielded magnetic fields, then distance them apart. What the gauss effect need be, check these links:

Notice the field is applied and then reversed to completely corrupt data or erase. This isn’t possible in typical home environment or basic environment w/o intention.
