What plastic containers are leaching chemicals into our foods and drinks?
I read about PVC pipes. what about other stuff in th house? Also what about the plastic containers used in health and beauty products? What plastics are safe and what are not?How can I tell?

How to avoid: Check the bottom of the bottle there should be a triangle sign and there will be a number on it. If the number is higher than or equal to 5 –> then this bottle is safe to use. Numbers under 5 will release the chemical. For most bottled water, the number is 1. Remember to check and never reuse plastic water bottles.

But I have heard from many medical authorities that plastics can leech and contaminate food and liquid. I do not reuse water bottles and try to cook and store with glass or stainless steel.
