Can anyone tell me where to find a recipe for Pinot Noir?
Want to know how to make Pinot Noir wine at home.Do I need to add some wood chips,what kind and how much?I seen Alexander’s Concentrates,does anybody else have other recipes for this type of wine?
Do you really want to make wine from concentrates??
First – Let wine producers do their work. They know how to do wine with results that can be more or less good but always better than the one you can do at home. To make a good wine you’ll need a whole bunch of instruments and materials that are very expensive (stainless steel tanks, oak barrels, WINE GRAPES,….). But the most important thing you need is experience, which can’t be bought.
Second – if you still want to make wine at home, buy the stuff you need but do not add any wood chips. It is the cheaper way to add some wooden taste to your wine but it si also the worst way: the wine will taste horrible. In any case add 1 gram of oak chips per liter, during maceration.
Third – stay away from concentrates: even if if you find some products that are claimed to be natural remember that using wine concentrates it is considered a criminal offence in many european states. This is simply because wine concentrates are a real s**t, not to be used.
Fourth – make wine at home only if you are an expert: people study 5 years to make wine, and you can not improvise winemaker. Think about this: do you know how fermentation is done and how long yould it last? Do you know anything about malolactic fermentation, ageing or maturing?
It’s better if you buy your wine and do not try to make it by yourself.
