Puerto Vallarta Real Estate Picks up Ahead of Pan American Games
Whenever a city hosts a major sporting event, the local economy is injected with a new lease of life. All major economic growth drivers get a boost due to infrastructure related activities and tourism ahead of and during the event. Tourism is one industry which specifically benefits from the any sporting event. Athletic teams, their entourage, world press and spectators all help in increasing the inflow of tourists. Also, due to huge amount of press exposure, a buzz and awareness is created about the city which helps in attracting the tourism in no small way. Also, newer hotels & resorts, improvement in facilities & amenities make a city attractive for discerning world travelers. Puerto Vallarta will be no different, now that, it will be a secondary host of 2011 edition of the Pan American games.
The 16 th edition of Pan American games will be hosted by Guadalajara, Mexico. This will be the first time such a big sports event will be held in a city other than Mexico City. It has also been decided that the beautiful city of Puerto Vallarta will be the secondary host of the games. Puerto Vallarta will host four sports – sailing, triathlon, open water swimming and beach volleyball.
The city will receive 300 athletes, staff & representatives and not too mention press from all over Americas. The city will receive unprecedented national and international coverage. Puerto Vallarta will also receive promotion through organizations such as Global Sport, part of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which will be selling 3 day visit packages for Puerto Vallarta. The development activities to setup or ramp up the infrastructure will enhance the already popular water-sports culture. As you maybe aware, Puerto Vallarta Real Estate attracts large number of buyers of Puerto Vallarta homes since it offers exotic beaches and world class water sport facilities. The improvements will only make Puerto Vallarta Real Estate a more attractive proposition for US and Canadian citizens looking for holiday Homes in Mexico.
Preparation for the world class event has already started in right earnest. A new beach volleyball stadium, with capacity for 5000 spectators, will be constructed in Puerto Vallarta. The new stadium will be situated in the Agustín Flores Contreras sports complex. Infrastructure for the other sport competitions are already in place in Puerto Vallarta ‘s well established water sports facilities. The city will also provide the infrastructure for the celebrations of each sporting event.
To attract general public a route which runs along the waterfront will be used for Open Water swimming. This will provide spectators panoramic view of the competition and will be perfect setting considering the beauty of Puerto Vallarta ‘s beaches. The triathlon will be held in the marina area. The sailing competition requires only open sea which Puerto Vallarta boasts of plenty!
Pan American Games will enhance and cement Puerto Vallarta ‘s reputation as a premier vacation and real estate investment destination in Mexico.
