Know anything about a 1913 Red Letter Testament Jerusalem Bible printed in Great Britain on Olive Wood?
It’s the new testament, the spine a little worn but otherwise very nice. The inside says that the cover is made of Ivory wood from Mount of Olives. It says Jerusalem on the back, Red Letter Testament on the side, and has an engraving on the front of a cross with four crosses around it. It is printed in Large Type in Great Britain by Collins’ Clear-Type Press.
The license states: “In terms of the Letters Patent granted by Her late Majesty Queen Victoria to Her Printers for Scotland, and of the Instructions issued by Her Majesty in council, dated Eleventh July, Eighteen Hundred and Thirty-Nine,…” … “Dated at London, the Eight day of March, Nineteen Hundred and Thirteen” It had a “stamp” on the last page reading M.O.B. 81 and ends on page 358, the final page of Revelation. It also has lots of color pictures!
I googled it and couldn’t find anything on that one. You might have a really rare and valuable bible there. It sounds expensive and unique. Bring it to an antique dealer for an appraisal.
