What is the best multi purpose drill for home use?
I need to be able to drill into brickwork / masonry and also to use it as a power screwdriver. Thanks!
Battery powered drills are like flashlights they are storage devices for dead batteries. Sounds as though you haven’t used a drill a whole lot? Not a put down, it’s just that if you don’t use a battery powered device often the batteries go dead go bad and every time you go to use it, the batteries are dead, Not a problem if the device is used often. I’d get a quality ½” corded hammer drill ( Craftsman, Dewalt, Bosch whatever your price point is ) and a quality 18 volt or higher battery powered adjustable torque 3/8’ drive pistol grip style drill. Everything has a price but cheap low quality tools will cost you out the wazoo. They don’t last and they break when you need them the most, right in the middle of a job.
