How To Choose A Milk Frother For Coffee
There is something very comforting about a big mug of smooth, velvety hot chocolate on a cold winter morning, and a cappuccino or a latte any time for that matter. One of the best ways to achieve this at home is with a milk frother, and the Froth au Lait gourmet milk frother is one of the best you can buy.
There are many different milk frothers on the market, battery powered and electric, and most of them do a pretty good job of frothing milk. Some of them have multi uses and make sauces and custards as well.
There is the wand style which works with batteries and which is very popular for small kitchens as it takes up little space. From reading the product reviews a rechargeable base is not necessarily an advantage but a storage stand has an obvious use. This type of frother is useful if you only want one cup of milk frothed and is easy to use and to clean. Aerolatte have a number of excellent models and they are very reasonably priced.
Then there is the jug type which is obviously bigger and takes up a little more space. The advantage here is that they are automatic – you switch it on and everything is done for you. Some are easier to clean than others and there are many different styles, from retro to modern, to choose from.
The Froth au Lait Gourmet would be my choice here. It looks good and works very well and it is reliable and versatile. There is a heat on/heat off switch so you can make thick cold froth or whipped cream for desserts, and with the heat on hot egg based sauces and custard are easy to make.
