ANY BARTENDERS OUT THERE? I have a vodka martini question!?
What are the best kinds of vodka and vermouth to use for a vodka martini? Also, is there such a thing as cocktail olives or will any old olives from the grocery store do? A coworker is returning to college and his favorite drink is a vodka martini so I am getting him a set of martini glasses with a martini shaker and I also want to get him the makings of some great martinis for a good luck/going away present.
the first question you need to ask yourself… what kind of vodka martini does he like??? there are so many different kinds. any vodka will work, but obviously the more premium you buy, the smoother it will be. i would recommend grey goose. any vermouth is good, but i like martini and rossi. you want dry vermouth, not sweet. any olives will work, but if you go to a liquor store, they have so many different types, such as blue cheese stuffed, anchovy stuffed, etc. that way you will have a larger selection to choose from.
