Can a Stained Glass Lamp Suit Your Decor?
Many people like the look of a stained glass lamp. But they might not be certain how they can add this design element to a room without completely changing the decor.
Not that long ago, lighting fixtures such as Tiffany glass lamps were rather pretentious and formal. As well, they were quite costly. Therefore many people tended to use them only in the areas of their home where they would entertain, like the sitting room and parlor.
These days, though, stained glass lamps come in a variety of looks, including more casual designs. Therefore, it won’t be too hard to get one that fits the decor you currently have. Stained glass lamps are available in a wide range of patterns. And each manufacturer will feature its own distinct designs.
If you’re looking to buy a Tiffany style lamp to go with your current interior design, you need to pay attention to color. The colors in the lamp need to blend with the overall look of the room. However, they don’t have to be a perfect match. Just as long as it fits the overall look, it can be highly effective to utilize a strong contrasting feature.
Sometimes stained glass lamps utilize only a few key colors to produce an eye catching pattern. Other lamps, however, use a rainbow of different colors to create an artistic impression. Often they will depict some example of nature’s beauty.
If your home is mostly decorated in neutrals, a stained glass lamp that features only a few striking colors might be preferable. This way it’s much simpler to incorporate into your existing decor. Matching up colors won’t be a worry. Instead, you could find a design that features just a single vibrant color and make it a feature of the room.
However, if you have a more eclectic decor, you might prefer a lamp that incorporates lots of colors in its design. These styles can be stunning in an area that features a variety of colors and shades. You won’t have to worry about matching your decor to a particular color in the lamp because anything goes in this situation.
Another consideration is the level of detail in the area where you plan on locating your lamp. If it features a minimalist look, a lamp designed with a more subdued pattern will be more suitable. Stained glass patterns that are more detailed and feature lots of different colors are better suited to rooms that have lots of other points of interest. Therefore, your stained glass light fixture will fit right in.
