Arsenic Water Filter: Wipe out the Arsenic, Bring in Clean Water
Arsenic is not a natural element of water. Therefore, if arsenic is found in water, it usually originates from metallurgical works or mining. In addition, fertilizers containing arsenic used in farming can also pollute the water. Also to note, phosphate and arsenic share similar chemical properties. Therefore, phosphate that is sold for commercial use may have arsenic present. Arsenic is actually a very harmful substance. According to US EPA, arsenic is classified as cancer-causing, in short, carcinogen. With an MCL of 0.05mg/l, arsenic is lethal.
To eliminate or lower the content of arsenic in water, there are common water treatment methods. To do that, there are various approaches. These methods include, namely, reverse osmosis, activated carbon, ion exchange, activated alumina and distillation. Allowing water to pass through activated carbon can eliminate forty to seventy percent of arsenic. Ninety to a hundred percent of arsenic can be reduced using anion exchange. Ninety percent can be eliminated by reverse osmosis and ninety-eight percent by distillation. Arsenic can oxidize and coagulate if it is in its original form, and the solidified substance can be removed.
There are a wide variety of arsenic water filters that can be purchased commercially. They range from countertop, undersink, refrigerator, whole house and commercial arsenic water filter to filtration systems. Such water filters are able to reduce the amount of harmful substances present in water, and are able to last for a long time. They are of very good quality and do not break down as easily.

Some of these water filters utilize ANSI-61/NSF, a certified anion exchange resin. The arsenic eliminated from the water is essentially insignificant and harmless.
When arsenic is present in the drinking water, it can then be carried all over the human body via the blood streams. It cannot be transmitted through contact or air. When one drinks water containing arsenic, it then enters the body and jeopardizes the health. Some effects of arsenic are severe abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting. More serious effects that may take place in the future include lung cancer, liver cancer and skin cancer. Obviously, arsenic is deadly poisonous and all efforts have to be put in to remove arsenic in drinking water.
