Valentines Decorations: 5 Tips on How to Set the Mood
If you’re planning an intimate evening with your other half on Valentines day, you obviously want your time together to be as romantic and memorable as possible. Apart from making sure that you have that special gift for that special someone, there are other ways to set the mood using Valentines decorations.
Really Girly
This involves lots of pink and red hearts, and an almost excessive use of decorations. You would also aim to have cute ornaments placed about the room you’ll be spending most of your day or evening in. Make sure that both parties are going to appreciate this extremely pink approach. There is no point in going over top with making a room really girly if one person won’t appreciate it and it kills off their romantic feelings.
Simple and Sophisticated
Rather than aiming for lots of pink decorations, and things that look really girly, this is a more minimalistic approach. You would use ornaments and decorations that feature hearts and other romantic symbols, but you would pick items that are less pink. This means that the decorations will lean more towards whites and creams, which you can then break up with a brighter decoration, like a red heart candle holder.
Candles
No matter how you’re decorating for Valentines day, candles will make the setting extra romantic when used with low lighting. Ensuring that they’re kept away from other decorations, setting them up in heart themed holders or even using scented ones can really help to set the mood.
Pretty Food
Chances are that if you’re spending a romantic evening in, then you’ll be enjoying some equally loved-up food. So why not take the chance to put the food on display in something different. Even a heart shaped box with some after dinner mints will help set things up.
Not Just for One Night
And if you pay enough attention to the Valentines decorations that you choose to set the mood on Valentines day, you’ll have picked out some pieces that can stay up all year long. So, you’ll have the little touch of romance every day of the year.
