How To Age A New Mirror
Are You trying to get your mirror to look aged? Well I will show you some few tips on how to go about it to do this. I have written extensively on the subject of the best place to buy mirrorsand my experience has helped thousands of website visitors. I highly recommend that you take a few minutes to read this post right to the end.
One thing I must mention is that there are a number of ways to convert the glass area of the frame to an aged mirror. If you are one of those people who are not using unframed mirrors you even have an option to convert the frame to a tray. {You Can do this even withThis can even be done with} some best lighted wall makeup mirrors
You can either use silver and gelatin or even an aluminum leaf. I know that most chemical kits cost something like $90 for 300 square feet but if you are looking for something cheaper than that then do consider trying out the aluminum leaf.
I must mention that that this does not always work effectively especially because most people have trouble removing the grey paint on the back of the mirrors.
Antique Mirror Patina is another option you can consider for this project, which is an alkaline solution that is water based and and mimics the blemish and aged look of antique mirrors. You can do it on your own at $80 or so i.e. about $2 per square feet.
These are a sample of options to consider when trying to convert your decorative wall mirrors or any kind to become an antique. I am confident that what I have shared above is enough to get you going.
