Nikon grip worth it?
Hello,
I take photographs with a Nikon D80 of my family, friends, landscapes, etc. I am strictly an amateur hobbyist. I don’t photograph sports or anything, so I’m not looking for FPS. But, does the comfort/effectiveness/etc. of the grip outweigh the cost?

It does for me … my D100 and D200′s all have them … they perform many functions. 1) hold two batteries for extended shoots 2) adds a stabilizing weight to the camera when using the camera hand held in low light 3) provides a second shutter release (for times the shots are vertical)
When you consider the benefits, the 15% to 20% additional cost is worth it.
