Why do the Houston Astros always wear their brick red jerseys on the road?
The Astros have a grey road jersey and 95% of the time they wear their brick red road jerseys and I’ve never heard a reason why they do that.
On most MLB teams, the starting pitcher has the “honor” to select the road uniform for the team. I assume this is the case with Astros.
Also, it is possible that the last time they won a game on the road (in ’09), they were wearing the brick red jerseys. So there could be some superstition involved.
Regardless, it just confirms one cannot judge a book by its cover. No matter which jersey the Astros wear, the results would be the same. Their luck might change in tomorrow’s game when every Astro player will be wearing uniform #42.
